The floor

Unusually for Las Vegas, the floor has natural light, high ceilings and floral installations, and it never feels like a windowless maze. Dealers and floor supervisors set the tone for the whole building: attentive, quick and courteous.

Games & limits

Table limits span the mid-range to some of the city’s highest, with blackjack, craps, roulette, a sizeable baccarat area and private high-limit salons. The poker room is one of the Strip’s best, hosting major tournament series as well as daily cash games, and there is a race and sportsbook.

The floor

Bellagio’s casino has the calm confidence of the hotel around it: warm lighting, striped awnings over the pits and a floor that feels busy rather than frantic. It is not the newest room on the Strip, but it is one of the best maintained, and the conservatory and lobby routes let hotel guests pass it entirely.

Every classic table game is here at a wide spread of limits, from blackjack, craps and roulette to a dedicated baccarat salon and generous high-limit rooms. The poker room is the reason serious players come: it runs cash games around the clock and has long hosted some of the highest-stakes games anywhere. A race and sportsbook completes the offer.

Gambling in Nevada is restricted to adults aged 21 and over, and the casino is licensed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Smoking is permitted on much of the floor, as it is across Las Vegas. The floor

The casino occupies its own levels beneath the atrium, entered through staffed gates rather than drifting in from the lobby. It is enormous but orderly, with high ceilings, good ventilation and smoking confined to designated rooms.

Games & limits

Baccarat is the centre of gravity, joined by roulette, sic bo and blackjack variants, premium rooms for higher stakes and a huge floor of slots and electronic table games. Main-floor minimums are reasonable on weekday afternoons and rise noticeably at weekends.

Rules & player care

Entry is for adults aged 21 and over. International visitors enter free with a passport; Singapore citizens and permanent residents pay a government levy of S$150 a day or S$3,000 a year. The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Singapore oversees the casino, and national self-exclusion, family-exclusion and visit-limit schemes are among the most developed anywhere.

The floor

The gaming floor is gigantic, divided into themed zones beneath painted ceilings, and it dominates the ground level of the resort. It is loud and crowded at weekends and during Chinese holidays; weekday afternoons are far calmer.

Games & limits

Hundreds of baccarat tables set the tone, with sic bo, roulette, blackjack variants and a very large electronic-gaming area where stakes start lower. Minimums are posted in Hong Kong dollars and climb quickly at busy times. There is no dedicated live poker room.

Rules & player care

Entry is restricted to adults aged 21 and over, and ID checks at the entrances are routine. Macao law bans smoking on casino floors outside approved lounges. The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) licenses the operator and processes self-exclusion applications.

The floor

The casino sits at the heart of the resort under a dramatic sculpted ceiling, and it feels like part of the resort’s evening rather than its centre. It is busy after dinner and quiet during the day, when guests are on the beach.

Games & limits

Blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat and a long list of carnival games sit alongside a large slot floor. For years the resort hosted one of the world’s best-known international poker tournaments; check the current poker schedule before you travel, as live poker is now more limited.

Rules & player care

Gambling in The Bahamas is restricted to adults, and Bahamian citizens and permanent residents are not permitted to gamble in the country’s casinos. The casino is licensed by the Gaming Board for The Bahamas. Formal exclusion and support schemes are less developed than in Singapore or the United States, so set firm limits of your own.
